Steyning Arts is a co-operative of local artists and was launched in May 2011 with our first art trail and events programme. We organise an art trail in Steyning and the surrounding area biennially. Steyning Arts at Christmas is held annually in or around the first week of December and we will be creating a schedule of exhibitions in spaces throughout Sussex in interim years.

Steyning Arts' aim is to showcase local arts across as broad a range of disciplines as possible including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, craft work and photography. One of the objectives of Steyning Arts is to make the arts accessible to the general public.

Events in 2016

Steyning Arts have several events this year.

Our biggest one will be the Summer Art Trail which takes place alongside the Steyning Festival at the end of May.

This year we will have 20 venues, many in Steyning but also several in Upper Beeding and Ashington. Trail Guides will be available locally to pick up or on our events page.

The Art Trail is made a success in our community by venue holders (some of whom are members for Steyning Arts) making their homes and workplaces available for artists to exhibit and sell their work. We would once again like to thank those who are willing to host artists in their properties. If you are able to offer your home or business as a venue, please contact us.

Our final event of the year will be our annual 'Steyning Arts at Christmas' which will be held on Saturday 3rd Dec 2016. This has proved to be a popular event, a cross between an artisans' market and an exhibition. A perfect event for buying a unique and distinctive gift. Again we will be supporting a local charity of our choice, with the profit from the sale of cakes and refreshments.

If you would like to take part in Steyning Arts events email to receive a membership application form and more details of the application procedure.
